Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte made the most hilarious faces during this behind-the-scenes moment at Trooping the Colour

Yesterday’s Trooping the Colour saw almost all the royal family come out to celebrate the Queen’s official birthday.

And while older members of ‘The Firm’ joined in with the parade at the start of the day, the young royal children had to stay behind to watch from Buckingham Palace.

But that doesn’t mean that Kate and William’s kids weren’t keen to get involved – as they were spotted adorably peeking out of one of the windows of the palace at the goings-on below.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the Duke and Duchess’ eldest children, have regularly been spotted peering out from behind the curtains.

And this year, it was Prince Louis’ turn, as he attended the special ceremony for the very first time.

The youngest Cambridge certainly made the most of it too, as he and his older sister were seen making some totally hilarious faces out of the window.

In pictures captured by photographers who spied the royal children, Prince Louis can be seen in some images showing off an adorably gummy smile, and sucking this thumb, while Charlotte nailed her royal wave.

But it seems the kids started to get a little restless, with Prince Louis later spied sharing a serious pout with onlookers, and Charlotte baring her teeth to the world.

What hilarious pictures!

Later on however, the kids, including Prince George, joined their mum and dad on the balcony of the palace for the historic fly-past.

And it seems Prince Louis couldn’t contain his delight at the new sights and sounds, clapping his hands together in glee after seeing the planes overhead.

Noticeably missing from the celebrations was Prince Harry and Meghan’s baby son Archie. At just one month, she is thought to be too young to join in the busy royal event.

But given that next year, he will be the same as as Prince Louis is now, there’s every chance he’ll join his mum and dad for his own first appearance at Trooping the Colour.
