Fully optioned 2020 BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe reaches $133,000

The 2020 BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe online configurator for the US market is now finally online. As you’d expect for a luxury four-door coupe, the standard features and optional equipment is quite extensive. Let’s start with the exterior finishes.
In the US, Standard paint finishes on the new 8 Series Gran Coupe include non-metallic Alpine White and metallic finishes in Carbon Black (when the M Sport package is selected), Black Sapphire (840i and 840i xDrive only), Mineral White, Sonic Speed Blue, Sunset Orange, Bluestone (840i and 840i xDrive only), Blue Ridge Mountain (840i and 840i xDrive only) and Barcelona Blue (840i and 840i xDrive only). Optional Individual paint finishes include Dravit Grey Metallic, Tanzanite Blue II Metallic, Aventurin Red Metallic and Frozen Bluestone Metallic.
The most expensive color you can get is the Frozen Bluestone Metallic which costs $5,000. The other BMW Individual finishes are priced at $1,950 each.
Our favorite color? Aventurine Red.
The leather options are also quite extensive with a choice of 15 different upholsteries. The 840i and 840i xDrive Gran Coupes feature standard Vernasca leather in either Black, Ivory White or Cognac. Optional on these two models and standard on the M850i xDrive Gran Coupe is Individual Extended Merino Leather in Black Ivory White, Cognac and two-tone Night Blue/Black, Tartufo/Black and Fiona Red/Black. BMW Individual Full Merino leather is optional on all three Gran Coupe models and includes Black, Cognac, Ivory White, Ivory White/Night Blue, Ivory White/Tartufo, Night Blue/Black, Tartufo/Black and Fiona Red/Black.
A wide variety of wheels are part of the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe catalog, ranging from 18 inch to 20 inch, and with different finishes.
When it comes to packages, BMW spared no expense. Customers can select packages like the Driving Assistance Professional Package, Comfort Seating Package, Cooling and High Performance Tire Package, Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection, Glass Controls, Anthracite Alcantara Headliner, Alcantara headliner in upholstery color or the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System.
Furthermore, the BMW M850i Gran Coupe gets an M Carbon Fiber package ($4,100) which adds carbon fiber air intake bars, mirror caps and a carbon rear diffuser.
Prices start at $84,900 for the new 2020 840i Gran Coupe, $87,800 for the 840i xDrive Gran Coupe and $108,900 for the M850i xDrive Gran Coupe. Pricing does not include $995 Destination.
Just for fun, we maxed out a 2020 BMW M850i xDrive and the total bill came up to $133,000, give or take a few cents.
