Not Cheap: 2020 BMW X7 M50i starts at $171,900 in Australia
When launching in Australia later this fall, the 2020 BMW X7 M50i will be one of the most expensive models in the lineup. The V8-powered will be priced from $171,900 Australian Dollars plus on-road costs, the equivalent of at least $116,000 US Dollars.
The X7 M50i takes over over performance flagship duties from the temporarily-discontinued M50d quad-turbo diesel. The M50i uses a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 developing 390kW (@5500-6000rpm) and 750Nm (@1800-4600rpm).
Drive is sent to a performance-tuned xDrive all-wheel drive system via n eight-speed automatic transmission, making for a claimed 0-100 time of just 4.7 seconds – 0.7 seconds quicker than the M50d.
Top speed is limited to — you guessed it — 249 km/h when equipped with summer tires (209 km/h with all-season tires).
The X7 M50i is also about $2,000 more expensive than the diesel M Performance X7.
For comparison, in the US, the X7 M50i starts life at $99,600 plus a $995 destination fee.
In terms of looks, it’s pretty standard M Performance styling. It gets a sportier front bumper and more aggressive front air intakes. Grey and gloss black trim adorn the exterior of the car, giving it a sportier, more aggressive look. Inside, a three-spoke M steering wheel with M-colored stitching sits front and center, with sportier looking seats and an Alcantara headliner completing the sporty look.[Source: CarAdvice]
